Please be reminded as we move into the winter season that ALL 7-12 student athletes MUST be registered into Final Forms. If you had a student who competed in a Fall sport and you have not yet added them to a winter roster, please do so as soon as possible. Also, be reminded that ALL FORMS must be signed and that a separate signed physical must be submitted. As election day nears, I want to remind you of an important issue for our schools in the upcoming November 7 election. The Athens Board of Education voted earlier this summer to place a renewal earned income tax on the ballot.

After communicating the change in Board Meeting date for October yesterday morning, I was made aware that the new date conflicted with several significant community activities that were already scheduled for that evening. So as to assure that as many people could attend the board meeting as possible, the Board has selected a different date for the October meeting.

Athens Middle School Receives Governor's Thomas Edison Award for Excellence in STEM Education

For the sixth consecutive year, Athens Middle School has received the Governor's Thomas Edison Award for Excellence in STEM Education. Teachers at Athens Middle School who received the award include Mary Ann Hopple, Ellen Kroutel, Stephanie List, Susan Matters, Kimberly Shuster, April Stewart, and Nathan White.

AMS Helps Those Affected by Hurricane Harvey

Mrs. Hall's husband traveled to Houston on September 8, 2017 to deliver much needed water, food items and diapers. He and his friends used a dump truck in making deliveries. The dump truck will then be used to help with clean-up.
AMS students and families brought in the much needed supplies. Students from Mr. Kostival's class helped load all of the donations and fill the truck. As of September 8, all of your donations are on the way to Texas!
