AHS Students Win Big at the Ohio State Science Day Fair

Students Earning 6-Year Awards

Athens High school had a strong presence this year at the Ohio State Science Day Fair held at Ohio State, May 13, 2017.

The Athens High School had 6 students participating: Derek Demel, Edward Drabold, Samuel Dispenza, Adeel Koshal, Nora Sullivan, and Zoe Williams. Demel, Drabold, and Koshal, earned superior ratings. Demel received the first place in Excellence Award for Civil Engineering Projects by the American Society of Civil Engineers, Central Ohio Section & Ohio Council. Drabold received the Governor's Thomas Edison Award for Advanced or Alternative Energy Scholarship, second place; and Koshal was awarded the Osteopathic Medical Award, second place, by the Ohio Osteopathic Association. 

Derek Demel was one of two students in the state of Ohio to receive the 8-year recognition award. Edward Drabold was recognized for his 6-year participation.
