AHS Freshman Hannah Bernstein Recognized as Borlaug Scholar

On April 16, 2018, Athens High School freshman Hannah Bernstein participated in the Ohio Youth Institute at The Ohio State University. After submitting a research paper on a global challenge in early March, making a presentation, going through a debate and an interview, Hannah was recognized a Borlaug Scholar and selected to be one of the 5 students on the state delegate team to attend the World Food Prize in Des Moines, Iowa on a 3-day all-expenses paid trip in October.

 

At the World Food Prize’s Global Youth Institute in Des Moines, about 200 high school students from across the US and other counties will have the opportunities to interact with Nobel and World Food Prize laureates, tour industry and research facilities, and connect with other student leaders.
