Jeremy Biddinger and Colin Widdoes from RVC architects will be hosting several meetings in the coming weeks at locations throughout the District to provide opportunities for faculty, staff, parents, and community members to provide input into the planning for our new PK-3 and Grades 4-6 school buildings. The schedule for those meetings is as follows:

Additionally, Tony Schorr from Schorr Architects and Mike Dingeldein from Community Design Alliance will be at the Regular Board Meeting on Thursday, February 21st to provide an update to the Board of Education on the work of our Planning Committees and will also provide an opportunity for those present at the meeting to share their thoughts and input.
The PK-3 and Grades 4-6 Planning Committees have had two meetings to date and several members of the Committees will be visiting two new schools in Lancaster, Ohio next week. The discussions at this time are focused on the programming necessary at each building and the types of spaces needed to provide that programming.
Thank you to the many members of our community who have been providing feedback and input. We have many months worth of meetings and planning ahead and want to make sure we hear from as many of our community members as possible. If you cannot attend one of these meetings, please feel free to send to me an email with your ideas and I will forward them to our Planning Committee Members. My email is tgibbs@athenscsd.org.

The 3rd Annual Bobcat Bulldog Indoor Field Day will take place on Saturday February 23, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Walter Field House on the Ohio University campus. Beat the winter blahs and join Ohio University student athletes and students for an indoor, interactive, HEALTHY AND FUN time!
This FREE event will be a chance for ALL Athens City School District Families to exercise, play, and learn together, as well as enjoy healthy snacks from some of your favorite local restaurants! There will be games and interactive nutrition activities for all ages and abilities. Vegan and vegetarian snack options will be available. NEW to this year’s event will be social-emotional health focused activities brought to you by the Ohio University Student Social Work Association, as well as discounted tickets for the OHIO basketball game taking place on the same day!
