Please read carefully the following information regarding immunizations and exemptions. Attention all 7th and 12th Grade Parents/Guardians: All students entering 7th grade will need a booster dose of the Tdap AND one dose of the MCV4 Meningococcal vaccine. Congratulations to Colleen Ulbrich on winning Math Teacher of the Year Award from the Ohio Council Teachers of Mathematics!! Colleen will be honored at the annual meeting in October. Colleen is the devoted Plains Elementary teacher leader on Athens City School's Math Leadership Team. ​​East-West Elementary is having Back To School night on August 21st! 4:30-5:30 pm: Drop off supplies to classrooms (6th graders should go to the middle school) 5:30-6:30 pm: Popsicle Social (6th graders welcome at East-West) It should be noted that parking may be difficult and to please do not block our neighbors driveways during any of our school events. I know it's a little early, but I wanted to welcome everyone back for the 2019-2020 school year! There has been a lot of activity throughout the District over the summer and we are looking forward to welcoming our students back to school. This is certain to be an exciting and eventful year. The 2019 football season is here! Practice at all levels has begun or is beginning soon, but it’s not too late for your child to join the team. AMS Cross Country Information Fall 2019 cross country running graphic
AMS XC (cross country) practices will begin July 29th. The team will practice 3:00-4:15 (Monday- Friday) at the Richland Ave. Park. Please email Coach Hall with questions ahall@athenscsd.org. 7th and 8th graders are welcome. No running experience is necessary—only a positive attitude and a willingness to work to improve. All who are committed to the team will participate in two mile competitions. There are no ‘bench warmers’ or cuts in XC!
