Fourth Grade Families,
My name is Amy Swatzel. I have been teaching at Morrison-Gordon Elementary for 12 years. I have taught second grade 2 years and 4th grade 10 years.
I graduated from Eastern High School in Meigs County many years ago. I attended Rio Grande College for two years then transferred to Ohio University. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Education Degree from Ohio University. I taught preschool for 6 years in Cambridge OH, then moved back to the Athens area and taught a year for the Child Development Center at Ohio University. From there, I taught preschool through the Athens-Meigs ESC as a preschool teacher for 2 years before being hired through Athens City Schools.
My husband, Don Swatzel, and I have two children. Our daughter, Erin, is a sophomore at Ohio University. She is majoring in pre-physical therapy and plans to be a physical therapist. Our son, Dillon, is a senior at Eastern High School in Meigs County. He plays Golf, Basketball and Baseball and plans to attend college in the fall of 2016.
I look forward to working with you and your child in the area of mathematics. Our district uses Go Math as the curriculum for grades k-5. There are many helpful online resources available through Go Math. I have posted links for these resources. I look forward to a great year!!
Sincerely,
Amy Swatzel
