I have been teaching for the Athens City Schools for the past 17 years at The Plains Elementary (a 5th grade teacher), West Elementary (Art and Physical Education), and now back at The Plains (a 6th grade teacher).   I earned my bachelors in Elementary Education and a minor in Fine Arts from Ohio University and my masters in Special Education from the University of Rio Grande.

Originally, I am from the Columbus area; when I attended Ohio University, I knew that this must be my home! For the past 23 years, I have lived on The Plains with two cats and one dog.   I have two daughters: Alessi is a senior majoring in Criminology at University of Illinois at Chicago and Ashton is an Employment Specialist for adults with disabilities in St. Paul, Minnesota.  In my "free" time, I love kayaking, doing yoga, meditating, eating (especially fruits and vegetables), watching movies, and traveling with my family...I do not like swimming!  I also work part-time at The Farmacy Natural Foods to try and help even more people be healthy!
