Recently, Bob Dailey and Jim Parsons, on behalf of the AHS Class of 1953, presented a check for $900.00 to Dr. Tom Gibbs, Superintendent of Athens City Schools for The McClure Foundation (Athens City School's Scholarship Fund). These funds were mainly made possible by Pete Good who died on September 4, 2020. Pete had invested savings from AHS '53 class reunions; much of which came as a result of Pete providing in-kind donations and facilities for the reunions. Daily and Parsons wanted to honor their classmate, who had been a big supporter of Athens High School. This donation will help make resources available for future students to pursue academic or vocational education goals.
