March 3 Update...

LINES...

Too many students continue to struggle mightily on memorization of their lines.  All lines should be memorized by this point.  When we return from spring break, we have a handful of dress rehearsals where actors will need to deal with props and costumes, and scripts in hands to sneak a peak will not be an option.  I can't stress enough to have your young thespians study, study, study their lines over break.  They must know their own lines as well as the few before theirs (so they know when to say theirs), and their blocking (where to enter and move on the stage).  

Show Shirts

Students are receiving an order form today for the show shirts.  The cast will be wearing them for the show.  If you are able to return it by the Friday before spring break, it would be awesome.  If not, we would need the orders by the Monday we return so our supplier can order the shirts and get started.  Barring any glitches, we would have them by the Monday before the show.  

 

Our Dress Rehearsals will be right after school on March 16, 18, 23, and 25, in addition to the regular Friday rehearsal on March 20, and will end at 5:00 as usual

 

 

January 24, 2020 Update...

First - initial paperwork noted that there may be 4 possible dress rehearsal dates in March that lead up to the performance.  Those are now definite dress rehearsal dates – MARCH 16, 18, 23, and 25.  I wanted to let you know now so you can put them in your phone, on your calendar, on the front of the refrigerator, and any other place that you find helpful.

 

Second – This is a reminder that students should have all lines in Act 1 (there are 2 scenes in Act 1) memorized by the end of January.  That is one week from today.  (EEK!)  So…if students did not take advantage over the December break to memorize as many lines as possible, they are probably feeling the crunch.  Students should make sure they work hard to memorize them quickly.  They may very well need help running their lines with a parent to help facilitate the process. 

 

ThirdAll cast members will need to purchase a show shirt to wear the night of the show.  If this is a hardship for any individual, please let Mrs. McGarry or myself know.

 

Fourth – Students were informed that anyone who wishes to submit a design for our show shirt may do so.  They are due by next week’s rehearsal.  (Although, way more time should be spent on memorizing lines than creating a design.)  All interested students were given a couple blank sheets of paper on which to work out their design.

 

 

November 1, 2020 Update...

2019-2020 REHEARSAL SCHEDULE

All rehearsals will occur immediately after school at 3:35.  Rehearsal will end at 5:00 each Friday.  Although we do not anticipate any other rehearsals, there have been times in the past where the weather has forced us to cancel rehearsal.  Due to this unforeseen circumstance, we want to let you know that if the weather should impact our rehearsals, we may have to call a couple other practices after school on a different day.

 

Auditions after school – November 8th

January 10, 17, 24, 31

February 7, 14, 21, 28

March 6, 20, 27

DEFINITE Dress Rehearsal Dates:

March 16, 18, 23, 25

Performance – March 27 @ 7pm

 

All information given to students throughout the rehearsal period, including the rehearsal schedule, will be posted on the Bulletin Board near Mrs. Sammons’ room.  Students will be able to check the bulletin board every day for any information they may have misplaced.  In addition to posting important information at home, please encourage your child to write it in their assignment books as well (such as when to remember their scripts for rehearsal!).  Information will also be posted on Mo-Go’s web page under “Quick Links”.

 

 

October 7, 2019

2019-2020 MoGo Drama Club will be meeting with students in a few weeks to discuss the upcoming show and when auditions will be. Students will receive a packet of papers full of information at this time.  

Students wishing to participate in the cast should plan to stay after school for auditions.  Students wishing to participate in the crew are NOT to stay.    If a student is not able to attend auditions, they should be sure to see Mrs. Sammons or Mrs. McGarry before the day of auditions.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. H.
