HI there! I thought I would share a little about myself as we start into this exciting school year.
I grew up in Oak Hill, Ohio, and attended college at the University of Rio Grande, where I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
This is my 22nd year teaching with Athens City Schools. Throughout my career, I have taught 5th grade, kindergarten and most recently 1st grade at Morrison Gordon Elementary. This year, I have transferred to The Plains Elementary where I will be working as a reading coach specializing in the Orton Gillingham methodology for reading instruction. I am looking forward to helping children become successful readers and working toward my OG certification.
I live in Athens with my husband, Scott, and our 3 children. Scott is the physical education teacher at The Plains Elementary. Alex is a senior at Athens High School. Adam is a freshman at Athens High School. Neva is a 2nd grader at The Plains Elementary. My family and I spend a lot of time at the track, wrestling matches and swim meets watching the boys compete....Go Bulldogs!
I am excited for this school year and count it a privilege to have the opportunity to work with your child this year.
